Booting/Re-booting the system

N2MASS / S2MASS Boot/Re-Boot


The Boot/Re-boot process for the N2MASS / S2MASS computer depends the state that is is left in.

Re-booting from Windows 95

  1. Move the mouse down to the Start button and select 'Shutdown'.
  2. Choose re-start system.
  3. The system should now boot into LINUX mode.

Re-booting from X-Windows
  1. Move the mouse pointer to a blank area of the screen (ie., no windows or screens open under pointer).
  2. Press & Hold the Right mouse button down and select 'Exit Fvwm'.
  3. Left click on 'Yes, Really Quit'.
  4. At the Linux prompt type: exit.
  5. At the login prompt, simultaneously press the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys to reboot the computer.

Re-booting from a LINUX prompt

  1. At the Linux prompt type: exit.
  2. At the login prompt, simultaneously press the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys to reboot the computer.

Re-booting from X-Windows

  1. At the login prompt, simultaneously press the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys to reboot the computer.


NI2MASS / SI2MASS Boot/Re-Boot


The NI2MASS / SI2MASS computer can be in one of two states, DOS or LINUX.

Rebooting from DOS or LINUX

  1. To Reboot the NI2MASS / SI2MASS, simultaneously press the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys to reboot the computer.
  2. At the LILO prompt type: dos to boot into DOS or linux to boot into LINUX.

TCS Boot/Re-Boot


To Reboot the TCS computer.

If the TCS program is running:

  1. Move to the shutDown menu and press the ENTER key.
  2. Press the ENTER key again for Auto shutdown.
  3. Press the ESC key and then the ENTER key a third time to exit to a DOS prompt.
  4. At the DOS prompt, simultaneously press and release the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys to reboot.
  5. After the TCS computer reboots and is at a C:\TCS> prompt, type tcs
  6. Press the ENTER key to start the TCS system checkout and initialization.

If the TCS Program is not running:

  1. At the DOS prompt, simultaneously press and release the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys to reboot.
  2. After the TCS computer reboots and is at a C:\TCS> prompt, type tcs
  3. Press the ENTER key to start the TCS system checkout and initialization.
