date date no The observation reference date for this source expressed in ISO standard format. This is the UT day value at sunrise for the night on which the source was observed. Because it is possible for the UT day to change during a night of observations, the actual UT date for a source measurement can differ from date by one day. Same as date column in 2MASS All-Sky catalogs.
hemis char(1) no Hemisphere code for the 2MASS Observatory from which this scan was observed. Same as hemis column in 2MASS All-Sky catalogs.
  • "n" = North/Mt. Hopkins
  • "s" = South/CTIO
scan smallint no The nightly scan number in which the source was detected.  Same as scan column in 2MASS All-Sky catalogs.
scan_key integer no
Scan key. Integer substitute for date,hemis, and scan combination.
cat_scan char(1) no
  • "y" = Scan was used in the production of the 4-pi 2MASS All-Sky catalogs.
  • "n" = Scan was not used because it had inferior photometry to scan used in the All-Sky catalogs. Photometry must be verified before using these scans.
qual smallint no "1-10" = Estimate of photometric quality of psf-fit photmetry.  10 is highest quality. Quality < 5 not suitable for use in 2MASS All-Sky catalogs without overrides.
coadd smallint no Coadd sequence number.  
naxis2 smallint no The postage stamp images are square with naxis2 pixels on a side. In the postage stamp archive the image size is variable depending on the size of the galaxy.

decl double precision no Declination of image center in degrees (-90. to + 90.). Frp, fits header.
xsc_prox numeric(7,3) yes Distance in arc-seconds from postage stamp image center to nearest source in the two_mass_xsc catalog. Null signifies that the distance is >= 100.0 arc-seconds.
ext_key integer yes Ext_key of source in twomass_xsc closest to the center of the postage stamp image. This field is null if the xsc_prox is null.
